I asked for a current, contemporary design built around Isaiah 6:8. "Here am I, send me." What came back was Matthew 11:28 instead.
Wrong verse. Not what I asked for.
But I looked at it, and I couldn't make myself scrap it.
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Maybe not the verse I was looking for. Maybe the one I needed to see that day.
Why I Kept It
Isaiah 6:8 is a calling, a response to God. Matthew 11:28 is an invitation, an offer from God. Different direction, same conviction underneath: God is speaking, and the question is whether we're listening.
I caught the mix-up before it went anywhere. I could have scrapped it and started over. Instead I sat with it for a minute, and the verse that showed up uninvited felt more honest than the one I'd planned.
The Design
"Come to Him" was originally meant to be a Message in Motion design, a back print. But free will cuts both ways: I decided to make it for the front as well, since it belongs just as much among the Bold Statements collection. After all, it's Christ alone who gives rest, whether the invitation is read from behind or worn boldly up front, if only we come to Him.
The full-color design carries that invitation either way: the words themselves, a figure at rest, and the promise underneath, He will give you rest.
What I'm Still Wondering
